From Ukraine with love
Perhaps the Ukrainian Motanka doll is not as widely known in the world as Vyshyvanka, a towel or, say, borsch. Meanwhile, this ancient family amulet, which represents the unity of family ties of generations, is an integral part of the culture of the Ukrainian people. Nowadays, when Ukrainians are fighting bloody defence struggle for their land, the Motanka doll, which hundreds of years ago has become a symbol of hope for a better future, once again becomes a beacon for hope. The threat of losing independence rallied our people to fight. Creative people also took their place in the ranks, bringing victory closer. Since 2015, the well-known Ukrainian artist Nataliya Volobuyeva has been sending her unique, originally created Motankas to the front as charms for our defenders. It was on their order that she started making dolls of Cossacks with sabers and muskets because there is not a hope for victory without a fight. The other day, we had the honor to receive from the ICF “Family CLUB Matusia” foundation, an incredible collection of 23 hand crafted dolls from Natalia Volobueva. We will give these wonderful works of art to people who donate to the fund’s project, which means they stand side by side with us in this critical time for the security of the whole world. Since the number of dolls is limited, we will give them away to anyone who makes a donation of €100 or more, starting on February 20th, and fills out the contact form on the foundation’s website so that we can get in touch and find out how to deliver the gift.
All donations will be directed to equipping the second mobile station of the Iron Hawk special air reconnaissance unit. As always, a detailed report will be published on the foundation’s website every month.
We are approaching victory together!
